( This takes place shortly after ” Familiar Betrayals ” , in which Misty and her sisters are what is left of the family after events that took their parents away from them many years ago when younger. This is from a chapter that has yet to be released. Written but not yet online XD )

Scene Preview:

Some time had passed ever since Misty had burst out of the Cerulean Gym, and as Daisy decided to check up on her, she returned to the house carefully entered Misty´s room. Hoping to find her inside and make amends aswell as make things alright between the two of them, she only saw her room in disarray, with drawers pulled out and most of her clothes all over except some of her travel attire.

With her room dark despite such a bright morning, Daisy turned on the light and couldn´t see Misty, only thing catching her eye is a photograph. Before she got any closer, Daisy suddenly heard the back door close and once quickly looking out the window briefly saw Misty ride off on her bike.

Yelling out to Misty, it´s as if it was fated to fail as a sudden storm rumble was heard, enough to overpower Daisy´s outcry to Misty. With Misty already gone, Daisy could hear Lily and Violet enter the house and once passing by the room, they could see the disorder aswell as Daisy by the window.

Realizing Misty truly meant what she had said, both Lily and Violet were unsure what to do, almost waiting for Daisy to say something. But as Daisy backed away from the window and sat down on Misty´s bed, her mind went to the photograph as she picked it up from the bed and took a look at it.

An photograph she nor her sisters had ever seen before. Of Misty, Michael and Melissa. Beginning to realize what it was, Daisy´s eyes teared up as her hands held the frame tighter when suddenly something got loose from the back of it. Taking it forth, Daisy saw that it was a handwritten letter.

Carefully unfolding it, Daisy began to read it to herself but the more she read the more her heart felt heavier. The more her emotions intensified until she could not take it anymore . The truth Misty had kept from all of them all those years... both in her burdened heart... but also a letter from Melissa...

” My dear Daisy

If you are reading this, then for whatever reason there was, nor I or your father can be with you. I had prayed to never write nor even give you such a thing as this. But given the history I have and what we already been through, I believe that you deserve to know some things I wish to share.

I lately had some faint foresights... and I taken necessary precautions as best I can and made preparations, but by the time you read this, I am certain that the future of the family is assured both financially If you are reading this, then it must mean that some of my foresights have come true.

One of them is Misty. You know that your father and I love you all very much, most important of all, equally... we may have our different activities together, but we have together been a family that love, respect and live together. And at first I thought you would be the one to take care of that .

But while you have your place as the family head and oldest sister, now a more parental role aswell, at heart I believe that your youngest sister is the key to the family. While things may change as they happen... my faint foresight gave me a feeling that I have yet to truly determine what it was I felt...

But I almost feel like somehow... something will happen that will put heavy burdens on all of you, but most of all on Misty. That she will know or keep something within her that will somewhat either shatter or unite our family when it matters the most. Whatever it may be... I want you to trust me.

Trust in her. Believe her, support her when she needs you the most no matter how outrageous it may seem. And if she decides to continue in my footsteps or take a path in life on her own, it is my wish to see all of you happy but for Misty, to accept the decisions she will make from now on her own.

She will not do anything wrong, harmful or something that would make me ashamed of her. I do not believe it, she has gone through too much to let something happen that would ruin her life to that extent. I believe she will find someone that will, just like your father to me, will put her on a path destined for her, a fate she can from on her own. And with full love and support from her family.

If you have to, let her go, but don´t push her away. There will come a time when she needs you all. but if that day comes and you fail me, I fear that dark clouds will cloud her future and put her on a road that will only bring forth any pain or burden she try to hold back. She is still my little girl.

All of you are. But as the oldest, you are the only one that can make the decisions that we cannot do anymore. Your lives, most importantly Misty, is in your hands, and I pray that somehow, someway, I still will be able to do something. Anything. And everything. To keep you safe. Healthy. Happy.

I truly hope I am wrong about some things . That perhaps you found this by chance in a garbage bin or Misty just gave you this to prove a point of mine. But after having a private tarot reading with your Aunt Lora... despite so many attempts for a different outcome... something is wrong.

I can´t read a future where I am with you... nor your father... to some extent even your aunt... something might happen and while I do not have the heart to prepare you and your sisters for something that may or may not happen... the cards do not seem to lie... not even about your sister.

Multiple outcomes... from what seems to me a brilliant future I cannot begin to imagine... to a darkened path that will lead to something so horrible I pray it not to be true... if you truly feel that she cannot stay at home... then I ask you to let Misty leave... if that is her choice... let her be free.

She will find her true self even out there... she won´t be alone for too long... she will find... him ”

Dropping the letter to the floor, Daisy could not hold back her emotions anymore as she took hold of the framed photo and whispered something to herself and to Misty despite already gone. That she was sorry. Despite not hearing Daisy well, her actions spoke more than words to Lily and Violet.

They were wrong. Lily slided down the doorframe, realizing they have done what they hoped to never happen. Shatter the family. Violet also fell down to her knees by the hallway wall, crying her eyes out in regret of what she said before, despite so far from the truth, was enough from Misty to leave . But nothing compared to Daisy. That she had failed.

That her own pain and burdens clouded her and made her blind to the truth her youngest sister had nevertheless hoped to keep to herself for as long as she could. And that when the day came to take that heavy burden off her, her family would be there for her no matter what.

Meanwhile outside the clear weather sky had quickly begun to get darker and far stronger as if a storm was building up. Yet Misty kept on going. As far away as possible from a place and a family that was meant to be there for her but had turned into nothing more than a sharp pain in her heart.

A pain she wished to get away from, no matter far she rides off. No matter where she goes or when she finds a place to stay at. Anything to let her forget everything she had suffered. Anywhere she could feel safe. Anyone she could feel loved by. And somehow forgive her mother for what she did.

Leaving her. All alone with a burden she promised Misty could handle. But for the first time in her life, Misty began to question her mother´s decision to put such trust and responsibility on only her youngest daughter. A decision Misty in the end hated despite loving her parents and family so much.

Continuing as far away as her bike would be able to carry her , Misty´s trail of thoughts seemed to materialize as it was clear it was no ordinary storm. It was something that almost seemed to be waiting for Misty. For her to leave her home...

Will her sisters be able to reunite the family again and what new future awaits Misty ?
